Philosophy
My
philosophy on art is simple: to me an artwork should be able to
'talk' to the viewer, above all expressing some idea of beauty.
And so my goal in producing a painting, drawing, photograph etc.
is purely to create an aesthetic image for others to enjoy - an
artwork which has the potential to uplift the spirits of those
who view it.
Education
Although
largely self-taught as an artist, I have learned much from professional
artists whilst undertaking courses at The Slade School of Art
and Camberwell College of Arts. Whilst contemporary practice has
left its mark, the great artists of the past have probably been
more influential in my work - in 2003 I completed a BA in the
History of Art at Cambridge University and the knowledge gained
has greatly fuelled my desire to create objects of beauty.
Commissions
I accept a wide variety of commissions, from artwork for CD covers
to paintings designed to suit corporate interiors, restaurants
and even private homes. I am also willing to accept photo commissions.
If you'd like to discuss commissioning work or if you'd like to
buy any of the work you see here, then please email
me. I am willing to work to most sizes, from A4 or smaller
to about 5 x 5 ft - or larger.
Here
are some of my recent paintings.
